I was at my Women's Prayer Meeting the other day and an old friend of mine pulled out this poem she wanted to read to us. It went like this.....
HEAVEN
The sun shines all day long.
The angels are singing heavenly songs.
The air is fresh and sweet to taste.
Not a single moment goes to waste.
Everlasting is the joy you feel,
Sweeping through your soul is real.
Laughter replaces your tearstained face,
Holding fast in His love and grace.
Our reward is so close but far away,
Our wonderful promise we'll claim one day.
And this He gave by shedding His blood,
This He gave with all His love.
On that cross He called us by name,
And on that cross He hung in pain.
And still He loves us with no shame.
And with Him our sins were taken away,
As He left this world, His promise still stayed.
And now He waits for us to come,
To the place He sits with God as One.
To fulfill the promise He made as His Son,
To claim the battle He's already won.
It's our salvation we work towards everyday,
In a world where evil is here to stay.
But in the end there is a place,
A world full of love and grace.
Where the air is fresh and sweet to taste.
Where the angels sing heavenly songs,
And where the son shines all day long.
And I was like, WOW! I LOVE THAT! It gave me goosebumps because sometimes we need to be reminded that our existence doesn't end here.......there is a place that has been prepared for us.
So of course I wanted to know who wrote this. My dear friend Phyllis leans over and shows me the paper she is holding. And at the bottom of that sheet I found my own name.

Um yeah, how could I forget my own writing? Because life sweeps you up and is running full blast forward. Because I haven't found the time to write lately.....in a long time.
I think I'll start writing poetry again. :)
The above picture is of my Mindy.........and Heaven is the place I want her final destination to be also.
