There Are Worse Things Than Barak Obama........

I sat watching the elections at my father-n-laws house..........praying for God's will and praying for my father-n-law. You see, my dad (because he really was my dad) sat in his bed propped up by pillows was fighting to breathe. As the nation cast their vote and made their choice, we weren't sure if he had an hour left, maybe two......even the night. And I was soooooo thankful he didn't have to know who had won. You see, my dad was an old school, country loving, patriotic retired United States Marine. He loved his country and he loved his family more than anything. And most important of all, he loved Jesus.
My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 throat cancer almost two years ago. Yes, that's right, stage 4.......and two years ago. The doctors gave him 6 months if that. The night he first got sick, he lay in the hospital bed not really knowing what was wrong with him. But he knew something was wrong. That night, he bowed his head and prayed and asked the Lord to come into his heart and save him. He was immediately saved..........and also immediately delivered from alcohol and smoking. He had smoked and drank heavily for over 50 years. He never touched either one again. Later that week, he was diagnosed and decided that he would not take chemo or radiation. He would go when the Lord said it was time. He lasted 2 years on his faith in Jesus Christ and the love of his family and pets.
My dad was my breakfast buddy.....................and my mushroom hunter. We shared a love for morels; he was the one to teach me how to clean them and cook them.....of course only if I was willing to cook him some. :) And I was always willing.
My dad died on November 5th, 2008 at around 12:04 p.m. At home (he never once had to go to the hospital again) with his entire family by his side......his son Buster holding one hand and my husband holding the other. His wife gently carassing his face and telling him how much she loved him. That's how he died. So peacefully, we weren't even really sure exactly when it happened. He just went home to meet his Saviour.
So yeah, I think there are worse things than Barak Obama....................even though I know he's with the Lord............I'm going to miss him terribly.

Vote McCain/Palin.............Vote!

Tomorrow is such an important day..................Election Day. What a blessing to be able to vote for the people that we believe in, that we know will have our best interest at heart. America's heart. I'm not voting for the candidate that I think will put more money in my pocket (that's my responsibilty). I'm a capitalist........that means I have the RIGHT to work hard, the RIGHT to achieve my dreams and the RIGHT to save my money or spend my money. My God-given American RIGHT. Why do you think so many people want to live in America? Even with all it's crime, abortions, diversity, racism, homosexuality and such, America is still the most desired land to live in. Why? Because we're the land of the FREE. A freedom that was won by the blood of our men and women. We had to FIGHT for it. And here we are again, fighting for it. The right to be free. The right to remain a Republic. As you can see, I have posted my choice of candidate. Why? He's Pro-Gun, Anti-Abortion, Pro-Traditional Marriage; just like me. I care more about these issues then the so-called "tax breaks" being promised that may put a whole $300 more in your pocket. Yes folks, let's sell our souls for $300. Pray for our nation. Pray for God's will. And God's will could very well be Barak Obama. Because God will give the people the leader that they deserve. God Bless.

Sigh...........my Tony

Okay, so this is Tony and Ashley, his girlie friend........the children of the corn. lol Not really, but that's what I sometimes call my children when they are misbehaving. :)
Tony is off to San Diego again for 9 weeks. He's in his infinetry (did I spell that right?) training where he's taught how to "really kill people"! Well, bad people that is. But I don't have to worry because he told me before he left that he acquired "bullet proof" skin while in bootcamp. Whew! Am I relieved! lol You just gotta love the Marine Corps! But he did promise me also that he will only shoot at people who shoot at him first.......................so I'm good!
But all jokes aside, when you sit down to pray, would you pray for my son and all the other men and women serving our country in the military? It would mean a lot to me and also to them. Am I fretting over my son's life??? Naw......I know who's in charge and no matter what happens, everything will be okay. Besides, bullets always bounce off Superman....didn't you know that? And Tony is my Superman. lol

You Know I Have It Bad When I'm Taking Pictures of Myself!

Okay, so yes, I took some pictures of myself...................I figured if I ever come up missing, my husband wouldn't have any recent pictures of me to post on the telephone poles. Okay, actually I just had my hair done and I thought it was looking cute.......lol. That's probably a little more truthful. But as I was editing these photos, I was also looking a little too CLOSELY! I'm seeing a few "laugh" lines that weren't there before...............sigh. Yes, old age is just around the corner. Lurking and waiting for me. Another thing I noticed, no matter how much I don't like it, is that I look so much like my dad! I'd rather look like my mom. But that's okay, it is something that I can live with. Like it or not. But all in all, I'm glad to be alive, blessed beyond belief, happy as all get out. And that doesn't mean that I have nothing in my life going wrong...........on the contrary my dear, there are always problems knocking on my door. But if I never had any problems, I would never draw closer to the One who gives me peace and happiness. Some times when things are going to "nicely and comfortable" I can forget that I still need Him every single day of my life. And even though I can look at these pictures and be my worst critic, I know that when Jesus looks at me, all He sees is how wonderfully and perfectly I am made after His own image. You see, He Love US so much.........we're not even able to fully understand it.

My Boys!!!!!!!

Okay, these are my boys. :) Not only am I enjoying having my son home for a short time, but I also get to see all "my boys" because of it. I really miss the Halo parties, camping out and paintball missions..............but I'm definitely saving on grocery money now. :)
Yes, they are crazy..........................and yes, they all like girls. lol Thank you, Lord! I love this one! Okay, I told them to just be themselves...................and this is what they did. Hmmmm, disturbing as it is. lol The original four.......................................had these boys over almost every weekend for years!!!!!!! But I'm so proud of them and they have all grown into fine young men. Love my boys!!!!
